Bacon Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs chicken tenders
  • 12-16 slices of bacon (thin-cut, one slice per tender)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top for even cooking.
  2. Prepare the Seasoning Mix:
    • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Wrap the Chicken in Bacon:
    • Wrap each chicken tender tightly with one slice of bacon. Secure the ends with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Coat with the Brown Sugar Mixture:
    • Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture generously over each bacon-wrapped tender, pressing lightly to adhere.
  5. Bake the Chicken Tenders:
    • Place the chicken tenders on the prepared wire rack. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C).
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Let the tenders rest for 5 minutes before serving. Remove toothpicks if used.
