Best Egg Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

For the Filling:
  • 1 lb ground pork (or chicken/shrimp)
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix (or shredded cabbage & carrots)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
For the Wrapping & Frying:
  • 12-15 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut oil)
For Serving:
  • Sweet and sour sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Spicy mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground pork until no longer pink.
    • Add garlic, ginger, cabbage mix, and green onions. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
    • Mix in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Cook until vegetables soften.
    • Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Assemble the Egg Rolls:
    • Lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape.
    • Place 2 tablespoons of filling in the center.
    • Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly.
    • Brush the top corner with beaten egg to seal.
  3. Fry the Egg Rolls:
    • Heat 2-3 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
    • Drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve & Enjoy:
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!

Baking or Air-Frying Option:

  • Bake: Brush with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Air-Fry: Spray with oil and air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway.
