Cheesy Texas Toast

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of Texas toast (thick-cut bread)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Prepare the Garlic Butter:
    • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Toast:
    • Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter on each slice of Texas toast.
    • Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Sprinkle the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the bread slices.
  4. Bake the Toast:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • For an extra golden top, broil for 1-2 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, if desired. Serve warm alongside soups, pasta dishes, or salads.

Tips:

  • Add a layer of marinara sauce under the cheese for a pizza-inspired twist.
  • Use pre-shredded cheese blends for convenience, or experiment with your favorite cheeses like provolone or pepper jack.
