Fluffy Milk Bread Loaf

Fluffy Milk Bread Loaf

Fluffy Milk Bread Loaf is a soft, pillowy bread with a slight sweetness, perfect for sandwiches, toast, or enjoying on its own. This recipe is inspired by the classic Japanese milk bread, renowned for its tender crumb and rich flavor.

Ingredients
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast, 1/2 cup warm milk, 1/4 cup warm water, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened), and 1/4 cup heavy cream.

Instructions
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, warm milk, heavy cream, and egg. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Add the softened butter and knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough rises.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Enjoy your Fluffy Milk Bread Loaf fresh with butter, jam, or as the base for your favorite sandwich!
