Garlic Butter Lobster and Scallops

Ingredients

  • 2 lobster tails, split in half lengthwise
  • 1/2 lb large scallops, patted dry
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Lobster Tails
Preheat your oven broiler. Carefully cut the lobster tails in half lengthwise and season them lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Step 2: Cook the Lobster
Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet, flesh side up. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brush it generously over the lobster meat. Broil for 8–10 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through. Set aside.

Step 3: Sear the Scallops
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the scallops with salt and pepper. Add them to the skillet in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Stir in the white wine (if using) and lemon juice, and cook for 1–2 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly reduce.

Step 5: Combine Lobster and Scallops
Return the scallops to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them to coat. Arrange the broiled lobster tails on a serving platter and drizzle with some of the garlic butter sauce.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle the lobster and scallops with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Tips for Success

  • Broiler Watch: Keep a close eye on the lobster while broiling to prevent overcooking.
