Sliced Baked Potatoes
Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
- Fresh chives or green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Potatoes:
- Scrub the potatoes thoroughly and dry them with a paper towel.
- Slice the potatoes thinly, about 1/4-inch thick, leaving the skin on.
- Season the Potatoes:
- Place the potato slices in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss again to ensure all slices are evenly coated with the seasoning.
- Arrange on a Baking Sheet:
- Arrange the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the Potatoes:
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the potato slices halfway through cooking. The potatoes should be crispy on the edges and tender inside when pierced with a fork.
- Optional Cheese Topping:
- If adding cheese, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes during the last 5 minutes of baking, allowing it to melt and bubble.
- Serve:
- Once baked, remove the potatoes from the oven and serve with sour cream, fresh chives, or green onions, if desired.
